Avon Park came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-2 to the Lake Placid Dragons. The Red Devils' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Marianna Salinas and Makayla Wells did some serious damage despite the final result: Salinas went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple, while Wells went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Avon Park's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-9. As for Lake Placid, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-11.

Avon Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lake Placid, they will face off against Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Dragons are facing the Fightin' Tarpons at the right time seeing as the Fightin' Tarpons are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
