It was a good run, but Fairmont unfortunately witnessed the end of their 16-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Marshall Tigers by a score of 4-2. The Cardinals were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the four contests prior), but the Tigers' pitchers proved too tough.

Fairmont's defeat dropped their record down to 17-2. As for Marshall, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

Fairmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marshall, they will host Alexandria at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
