Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Saline walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Woodhaven Warriors 2-1 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won eight contests in a row.

Abby Curtis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Saline saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sydney Hastings, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Hastings has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Saline's victory bumped their record up to 24-3-1. As for Woodhaven, they moved to 32-6 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Saline didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-4 win against Hudsonville on the 12th. Woodhaven does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
