Softball Recap: Kerman Takes a Loss

Kerman blew Sanger West out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Sanger West got their revenge. The Lions fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Izzy Lee was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Emma Flores also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

The loss snapped Kerman's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-3-1 record. As for Sanger West, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Kerman will take on Woodlake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 0.9 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sanger West, they will be playing at home against Reedley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
