Softball Recap: Rialto Knights vs. Colton Yellowjackets
Rialto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell victim to a rough 9-2 defeat at the hands of the Colton Yellowjackets. That's two games in a row now that Rialto has lost by exactly seven runs.
Rialto saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Delilah Perez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
On Colton's side, JASMINE DE LA ROSA was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. DE LA ROSA was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an RBI.
In other batting news, VALERIE VARELA was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and a triple. Another player making a difference was DANI CAMPA, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
Rialto's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Colton, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Rialto will head out on the road to square off against Carter at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Carter will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Rialto surely won't give up without a fight. As for Colton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against San Gorgonio at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Colton is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
