Wakefield has gone a perfect 3-0 against East Wake Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wolverines will host the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wakefield took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Heritage by a score of 5-1. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won four in a row.

The team relied heavily on Thomas Piscorik, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Meanwhile, East Wake Academy earned a 7-2 win over Crossroads Christian on Monday.

Lane Collier was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Robbie Johnston was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Dexter Benton, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Everything went Wakefield's way against East Wake Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Wakefield made off with a 7-1 victory. Will the Wolverines repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
