Frankfort faced Jefferson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Falcons fell 5-2 to the Cougars. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Lanson Orndorf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Blake Jacobs was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Frankfort's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Jefferson, their win bumped their record up to 22-3-1.
