Volleyball Recap: American Leadership Academy Comes Up Short

American Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Rowland Hall Winged Lions. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Winged Lions when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-14.

Lexy Vigo paced American Leadership Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Vigo were helped by Daphne Gamble and Elizabeth Huntsman, who contributed four assists each. Natalee Oliver controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Leading Rowland Hall to victory were Akemi Kawabata and Nyki Younten. Kawabata had eight digs and four aces, while Younten had four digs and three aces.

American Leadership Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Rowland Hall, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American Leadership Academy will welcome Providence Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rowland Hall, they will challenge American Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
