Soccer Game Preview: Sullivan East vs. Cherokee

The Sullivan East Patriots will square off against the Cherokee Chiefs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Sullivan East, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Cherokee's (thus far) undefeated season.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Sullivan East's offense. They lost 9-0 to David Crockett on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Sullivan East can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 276th, while David Crockett are ranked 65th).

Meanwhile, Cherokee hadn't done well against Grainger recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Chiefs were the clear victors by a 5-1 margin over the Grizzlies. Considering Cherokee have won five matches by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Cherokee pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Sullivan East, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
