Volleyball Recap: Goddard Takes a Loss

Goddard lost against Salina Central on September 2nd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lions fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Goddard sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 20-25, 25-11.

Despite the loss, Goddard still got an impressive performance from Jera Tipping, who had seven digs and two assists.

Goddard has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Salina Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. After both having extra time off, Goddard and Arkansas City will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salina Central, they will challenge Great Bend at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
