Soccer Recap: James River Starts Season with Defeat at Home

James River unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They lost 7-0 to the Appomattox County Raiders on Friday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Looking ahead, James River will challenge Floyd County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be James River's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Appomattox County, they have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Liberty on the 14th.
