Basketball Recap: Hampton Hawks vs. Nebraska Lutheran Knights
Hampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nebraska Lutheran Knights. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 63-41 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Nebraska Lutheran's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lukas Worster, who posted 14 points and eight rebounds. Worster is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dylan Hoehler, who scored eight points in addition to nine boards and six assists.
Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Nebraska Lutheran, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.
When Hampton and Nebraska Lutheran next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Hampton will try to stop Cross County's six-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Nebraska Lutheran will square off against College View Academy and their three-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
