Basketball Recap: Texas City Comes Up Short

Texas City fought the good fight in their overtime game against Pasadena on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 50-49 to the Eagles. The Stingarees' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it 16 in a row dating back to last season.

Emily De La Garza had a dynamite game For Pasadena., putting up 34 points and six steals. The matchup was De La Garza's third in a row with at least 15 points. Abigail Ruiz Martinez was another key player, posting seven points.

Texas City's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Pasadena, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Texas City will take on Ridge Point in a tournament on Thursday. As for Pasadena, they will be playing at home against Cypress Park at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
