Softball Recap: Dublin Scioto Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After losing to Dublin Jerome the last time they met, Dublin Scioto decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Irish came out on top against the Celtics by a score of 5-2 on Saturday.

Avery Reynolds spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up 14 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gina Wasko, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Jackson, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Dublin Scioto's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-6. As for Dublin Jerome, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Coincidentally, Dublin Scioto and Dublin Jerome will both be playing Dublin Coffman the next time they take the field. The Irish will head out to face the Shamrocks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Celtics will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
