Softball Recap: Jefferson Saints vs. Denver West Cowboys
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fort Lupton, Jefferson was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 20-10 margin over the Denver West Cowboys. The high-scoring effort was just what the Saints needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.
Jefferson let Abigail Daus and Te'Aira Nutter loose on the outfield. Daus scored four runs and stole seven bases while going 3-for-5, while Nutter scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of her seven plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Trujillo, who scored three runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-5.
The victory got Jefferson back to even at 1-1.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Jefferson beat Denver West by a score of 17-5 later that day.
