Baseball Game Preview: Woonsocket Villa Novans vs. Davies Career & Tech Patriots

The Woonsocket Villa Novans will square off against the Davies Career & Tech Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woonsocket is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Woonsocket is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Times Squared Academy get on the board and left with a 33-0 victory on Friday. The Villa Novans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by seven runs or more this season.

Ceasar Vazquez Jr made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Vazquez Jr was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Jullian De Jesus was incredible, going a perfect 6-for-6 with eight RBI, four runs, and one triple. Joseph Greenless was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Woonsocket always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .760. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Davies Career & Tech was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell 5-2 to Blackstone Valley Prep. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the PRIDE: they've now lost three in a row.

Woonsocket's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Davies Career & Tech, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
