Springville had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the St. Clair County Fighting Saints 40-38. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Fighting Saints are ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Springville pushed their record up to 16-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for St. Clair County, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
