Basketball Recap: Braylon Ward's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Union over Pendleton County

Union lost against Pendleton County back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Union Tigers took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pendleton County Wildcat.

Union lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Braylon Ward, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 21 points along with six assists and six rebounds. That's the most assists he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Linkswiler, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 14 points and six boards.

Union has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Pendleton County, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pendleton County, they will be playing at home against Moorefield at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
