Basketball Recap: Buena Piles Up the Points Against Desert View

Buena's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They blew past the Desert View Jaguars 62-30. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Colts also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Leading Buena to victory were Icsiss Perez and London Richardson. Perez almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds, while Richardson posted ten points along with five assists and five steals. What's more, Perez also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kalel Palacios, who had eight points and five boards.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Buena was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Buena moved to 6-10 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak. As for Desert View, they dropped their record down to 3-17 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Buena has already played their next matchup (against Cienega), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Desert View wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 48-24 victory against Empire on the 28th.
