Baseball Game Preview: Huron Tigers vs. Elmwood Royals

Huron is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Elmwood is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tigers will host the Royals at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Huron 3.9, Elmwood 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Wednesday, Huron didn't have quite enough to beat Willard and fell 5-4.

Meanwhile, Elmwood made easy work of Riverdale on Wednesday and carried off a 19-9 win. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Kason Hammer was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Zackery Gross was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI.

Elmwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverdale only posted a batting average of .320.

Elmwood's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Huron, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
