Baseball Recap: Truman Patriots vs. Raytown Bluejays
Truman put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They put the hurt on the Raytown Bluejays with a sharp 13-2 victory. The win was nothing new for Truman as they're now sitting on three straight.
Brayden Branson looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Truman let Joshwa Jacobson and Caden Deeney loose on the outfield. Jacobson went 1-for-3 with a home run and four RBI, while Deeney scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Nomar Garcia, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
On Raytown's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zayne Wiershing, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Truman's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-10. As for Raytown, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
Truman will be playing at home against Raytown South at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
