Basketball Recap: Deltona's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

The third road match was the charm for Deltona, as they earned their first road win of the season. They rang in the new year with a 54-47 victory over the Eau Gallie Commodores on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Wolves as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Tim Mccarthy was the offensive standout of the game as he posted 12 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Xavier Cerrud, who had eight points and seven assists.

Mccarthy wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Deltona was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Deltona's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Eau Gallie, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 3-8.

Deltona didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 83-62 defeat against Legacy Charter on the 3rd. As for Eau Gallie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 56-42 loss against Flagler Palm Coast on the 3rd.
