Basketball Recap: Collins Comes Up Short

Collins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Richton Rebels, falling 62-28. The Tigers were probably out for revenge after losing 47-31 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leading Richton to victory were Nylah Robins and Rakhiya Moody. Robins went 5 for 9 on her way to 15 points along with six assists and six boards, while Moody went 6 of 9 en route to 13 points and five steals. Those six assists gave Robins a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kalyjai Bolton, who posted nine points.

Collins' loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Richton, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Collins has already played their next game, a 54-43 defeat against North Forrest on the 17th. As for Richton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-69 loss against Heidelberg on the 16th.
