Softball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

If Madison was feeling good fresh off their 11-4 takedown of Highland last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bobcats took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shelley Russets on Friday. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Russets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Madison has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Shelley, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Thunder Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Shelley, they will take on Idaho Falls at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
