Basketball Recap: Benton Takes a Loss

Benton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Highland Cardinals and fell 69-24. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Zephyrs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-12 back in December of 2024.

Benton's record now sits at 0-16. As for Highland, with the victory, they broke their ten-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-10.

Benton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-40 loss against Fennimore on the 25th. As for Highland, they will square off against Shullsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shullsburg will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Highland surely won't give up without a fight.
