Basketball Game Preview: Audenried vs. Academy at Palumbo Griffin

Audenried is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Pennsylvania's top teams: Academy-Notre Dame De Namur, who was ranked third at the time (Audenried was ranked 18th). Audenried secured a 74-68 W over Academy-Notre Dame De Namur on Sunday.

Shayla Smith and Nasiaah Russell were among the main playmakers for Audenried as the former dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 boards and the latter dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Smith's afternoon made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Reynah Rattliff, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Academy at Palumbo has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 29.56 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They took a 57-43 bruising from Freire Charter. The Griffin's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Audenried is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points per game. As for Academy at Palumbo, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
