Baseball Recap: Flushing Comes Up Short

Flushing was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 15-5 to the Bowne Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-1 last Friday.

Flushing got a massive performance out of Alexis Santana, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Santana is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Gary De Jesus was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

Flushing's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Bowne, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Flushing will be playing in front of their home fans against East at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bowne, they will take on Forest Hills at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
