Basketball Recap: Wayne Falls Despite Big Games from Kaden Post and Mykell Shackelford

Wayne was the 52-43 winner over Centerville when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wayne Warriors came up short against the Centerville Elks on Sunday, falling 59-38. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Wayne had strong showings from Mykell Shackelford, who posted eight points, and Kaden Post, who scored ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Wayne and nudges their season record down to 10-6. As for Centerville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Wayne wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 49-36 win against Chaminade Julienne Catholic on the 4th. As for Centerville, they will be playing at home against Miamisburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Centerville is facing Miamisburg at the right time seeing as Miamisburg is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
