Basketball Game Preview: Washington Tigers vs. Westlake Demons

The Washington Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Westlake Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Washington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: St. Vincent-St. Mary, who was ranked 12th at the time (Washington was ranked 21st). Washington lost to St. Vincent-St. Mary on the road by a 54-39 margin on Saturday. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, after a string of seven wins, Westlake's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 42-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rocky River.

Westlake's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 11-5. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 15-3.

Washington came up short against Westlake in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 61-54. Can Washington avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
