Olympic not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17th (when they won 17-7). They put the hurt on the Orting Cardinals with a sharp 14-8 victory. The Trojans haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Sophia Brown made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and two unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Paige Gordon was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Kennedy Haas was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Olympic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Olympic's record is now 10-8. As for Orting, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.
