Baseball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

Mountain View lost against Los Gatos last Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spartans came up short against the Wildcats, falling 9-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered since March 27, 2024.

Mountain View got a good showing from Makaio Mo'Unga, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Mountain View saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Xu, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Mountain View is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-5. As for Los Gatos, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Mountain View is taking a road trip to take on Aragon at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Dons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Los Gatos, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Palo Alto at 4:00 p.m. on the 16th.
