Basketball Recap: Lancaster Bruins vs. Wilson Tigers

Lancaster kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They took an 87-74 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wilson Tigers. The Bruins were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Malik Tinsley and Jayen Reeves certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Tinsley posted 23 points and four steals, while Reeves put up 25 points. Another player making a difference was Ni'Quan White, who had four points and nine boards.

Josh Leonard was a one-man wrecking crew For Wilson. as he dropped a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Leonard's big performance that afternoon made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Gamble, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 20 points.

Looking ahead, Lancaster will take on West Ashley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wilson, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Providence Day at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
