Softball Recap: Southfield Christian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Clarenceville on Tuesday, Southfield Christian came back down to earth. The Eagles lost 12-2 to the Oakland Christian Lancers on Friday. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 15-5 to the Lancers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bella Thomas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lucia Reis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Southfield Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Oakland Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-9.

Coming up, Southfield Christian will challenge Lutheran Northwest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Oakland Christian has already played their next game (against Mott), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
