Football Recap: Greenwich Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Greenwich had won five straight home games dating back to last season and Hector Lopez(C) did his part to make it six on Saturday. The Cardinals came out on top against the Norwalk Bears by a score of 27-18 thanks in part to Lopez(C), who rushed for 234 yards and one score while picking up 10.2 yards per carry, and also caught one touchdown. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards.

When it comes to explaining why Norwalk lost, don't look at Easton Pace. Despite the final result, he rushed for 122 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 197 yards and one touchdown. 88 of those passing yards were hauled in by Kevin Gordon, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Greenwich's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Norwalk, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenwich is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Norwalk, they will venture away from home to challenge New Milford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
