Baseball Recap: Marshfield Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Marshfield can now relate to. They came up short against the Willard Tigers on Saturday, falling 13-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Bluejays in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Marshfield's loss dropped their record down to 27-14. As for Willard, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 32-8.

Coming up, Marshfield will take on Fair Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bluejays' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Willard, they will face off against Kickapoo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
