Preview: Windsor Wizards vs. Longmont Trojans

Windsor has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Longmont Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Saturday, Windsor made easy work of the Wildcats and carried off a 75-51 victory. Given Windsor's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Wildcats are ranked 157th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brady Kingsley went supernova for Windsor, going 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kingsley has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Madden Smiley, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Longmont over the Mavericks in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Everything went Longmont's way against the Mavericks as the Trojans made off with a 54-29 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Longmont.

Longmont relied on the efforts of Cole Corner, who scored 13 points, and Cole Gaddis, who scored 14 points. Kolby Holmes was another key contributor, scoring five points.

Windsor pushed their record up to 13-4 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Longmont, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Windsor took their win against the Trojans in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 66-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Windsor since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
