Basketball Preview: Copper Basin Cougars vs. Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy Mustangs        
        
		
            
 Copper Basin has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They and the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy Mustangs will face off  at 6:00  p.m.  on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Copper Basin focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
 In what's become a running theme this season, Copper Basin gave their fans yet another huge  win on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lookout Valley 51-13 at home. The  game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  34-7.
 Copper Basin got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Peyton Grabowski out in front who  scored seven points along with eight  steals and six  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kendra Deal, who  scored eight points along with five  steals.
 Meanwhile, Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy was beaten by the Panthers 82-14 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings  (they are ranked 407th, while the Panthers are ranked 178th).
 Copper Basin has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six matchups,  which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.
 Everything came up roses for Copper Basin against the Mustangs in their previous meeting  back in December of 2023 as the  team secured a  65-4 win. With Copper Basin ahead  42-4 at the half, the  match was all but over already.
