Baseball Recap: Deckerville Comes Up Short

Deckerville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 6-3 to the Capac Chiefs.

Deckerville got a good showing from Ashton Wedge, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Brandon Salowitz and Brayden Russell stepped up to the plate in a big way. Salowitz went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one double, while Russell went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. Salowitz is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Deckerville's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Capac, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Chiefs beat Deckerville by a score of 2-1 later that day.
