Softball Game Preview: Foundation Academy Lions vs. Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs

The Foundation Academy Lions will challenge the Mount Dora Christian Academy Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Foundation Academy comes in on four and Mount Dora Christian Academy on eight.

Foundation Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against West Orange, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 7-1 win on Thursday. The Lions not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 25th.

Tinsley Fisher made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.2 innings pitched. Fisher was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Winters, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. Kena Terry was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

Foundation Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.

Mount Dora Christian Academy played against Trinity Prep on Thursday and won via forfeit.

Mount Dora Christian Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Foundation Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.
