After a string of four wins, East Mecklenburg's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 4-0 to the Hurricane Redskins. The shutout was out of character for the Eagles seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Ben Church was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

On the hitting side, East Mecklenburg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabriel Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

East Mecklenburg's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Hurricane, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

East Mecklenburg wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 15-8 defeat against Independence on the 2nd. As for Hurricane, they will square off against Parkersburg South at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
