Volleyball Preview: Chelsea Bulldogs vs. Manchester Flying Dutchmen
Chelsea has been on the road for five straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will welcome the Manchester Flying Dutchmen at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chelsea is headed into the matchup having just posted their biggest win since September 19th on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Ypsilanti as Chelsea made off with a 3-0 victory.
Chelsea was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-19, 25-21.
Chelsea had a senior duo take command as Maddie Mckale had seven digs and four aces and Ellie Kuck had eight digs and three aces. The dominant performance gave Mckale a new career-high in aces.
Meanwhile, Manchester had just enough and edged Napoleon out 3-2 on Tuesday.
Manchester was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 17-25, 21-25, 26-24, 15-4.
Chelsea's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 21-10-3. As for Manchester, their victory bumped their record up to 19-15.
