Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Blountstown's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

There's no place like home for Blountstown, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They strolled past the Ponce De Leon Pirates with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 55-40. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 39-36 back in January.

Blountstown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cyion Smith, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Curtis Ellis was another key player, going 7 for 16 on his way to 16 points in addition to six assists and four steals.

Blountstown is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for Ponce De Leon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
