Basketball Recap: Gulliver Prep Raiders vs. Key West Conchs

The Gulliver Prep Raiders had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Key West 55-35. The victory was familiar territory for Gulliver Prep who now have four in a row.

Gulliver Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mikayla Brown out in front who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Gulliver Prep's points. Another player making a difference was Allison Podvin, who scored 19 points.

Gulliver Prep is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Key West, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.

Gulliver Prep is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Sabres at 3:00 p.m. on February 8th. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jaden Castro and Brown. Key West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
