Basketball Recap: Hays-Lodge Pole Falls Short of Box Elder in the Playoffs

Hays-Lodge Pole and Box Elder squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Hays-Lodge Pole had to settle for second. They fell to the Box Elder Bears 43-39. The Thunder Birds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 63-38.

Box Elder's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Martay Stiffarm-Rosette led the charge by putting up 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Stiffarm-Rosette has scored at least a third of Box Elder's points. Another player making a difference was Shareece Raining Bird, who posted 13 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Hays-Lodge Pole and nudges their season record down to 8-8. As for Box Elder, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-13.

Hays-Lodge Pole does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Box Elder, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 60-42 defeat against Big Sandy on the 22nd.
