Softball Game Preview: Springdale Dynamos vs. South Allegheny Gladiators

The Springdale Dynamos will head out to face off against the South Allegheny Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Springdale has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with seven straight losses, while South Allegheny will come in with six straight victories.

Brentwood hit Springdale with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Dynamos came up short against the Spartans, falling 10-3.

Meanwhile, while South Allegheny put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Northgate. The Gladiators were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Flames. The result was nothing new for the Gladiators, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Sydney Gordon was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Jackson, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

South Allegheny pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for Springdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Springdale suffered a grim 21-1 defeat to South Allegheny in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Dynamos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
