Baseball Game Preview: Big Sandy Wildcats vs. Fruitvale Bobcats

For the second straight game, Big Sandy will face off against Fruitvale. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Big Sandy Wildcats challenge Fruitvale Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be Big Sandy's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

Big Sandy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Fruitvale 17-4 on Tuesday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Malijah Francis made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Francis was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Brown, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kayden Smith, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.

Big Sandy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Fruitvale dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Big Sandy, their record is now 4-6.
