Softball Recap: Ishpeming Hematites vs. Gwinn Modeltowners
After low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Ishpeming brought some dynamite into their most recent game. Everything went their way against the Gwinn Modeltowners on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-2 victory. With that win, the Hematites brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Miley Phillips made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Phillips was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Marie Salisbury was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ishpeming always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gwinn only posted an OBP of .409.
