Basketball Recap: Natrona County Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Green River

On Friday, Natrona County faced Green River in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Natrona County Mustangs took a 58-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green River Wolves. The Mustangs were probably out for revenge after losing 54-42 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Natrona County's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-7. As for Green River, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Natrona County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rock Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Green River, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Kelly Walsh at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
