Football Game Preview: Fayette Academy Vikings vs. First Assembly Christian Crusaders

Fayette Academy is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and First Assembly Christian a seven-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Fayette Academy Vikings will be playing at home against the First Assembly Christian Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fayette Academy's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Harding Academy on Friday. They were outmatched by the Lions and fell 35-0. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly 35 points.

Meanwhile, First Assembly Christian lost 38-13 to Jackson Christian on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 297th, while the Eagles are ranked 93rd).

Fayette Academy will need to focus on slowing down JJ Davis, one of several First Assembly Christian players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 63 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

First Assembly Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Davis.

Fayette Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for First Assembly Christian, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-8.

Fayette Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over First Assembly Christian in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 31-21. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
