Recap: Ysleta Indians vs. Hanks Knights
It was a good run, but the Ysleta Indians unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were outmatched by Hanks on the road and fell 45-13. Ysleta has struggled against Hanks recently, as their contest on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Daisy Fernandez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hanks, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The match was Fernandez's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Carrillo, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Ysleta's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Hanks, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record this season.
Ysleta will be playing in front of their home fans against Parkland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hanks is on the road again on Friday and play against Bel Air at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Bel Air is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
